Wenke Grennhouses in Kalamazaoo, Michigan use a fleet of 25 Wesley Pack Mule stock chasers to move products and operate efficiently.

“The Pack Mule electric utility vehicles are very versatile for doing a wide range of jobs,” explains Wayne Blades of Wenke Greenhouses – a Kalamazoo, Michigan based retail and wholesale plant and gardening business. Founded in 1942 as a small family business, Wenke Greenhouses has grown into one of the nation’s largest sellers of plants and gardening products. The company currently operates from three locations, including its original 3-acre site, a second 18-acre facility in Kalamazoo, and a 20-acre facility in Douglas, Georgia.

To cover the expansive territory in those gigantic work sites, Wenke relies on a quiet but powerful fleet of 25 Pack Mule electric utility vehicles purchased from Wesley International. Once Blades begins to describe the many reasons why Wenke prefers the innovative Pack Mules over other types of utility vehicles, it becomes obvious that the Pack Mules have distinct advantages not found in conventionally designed gas or diesel powered units.

“We primarily use the Pack Mule to move products from one location to another,” says Blades, “but they are also great to use as a maintenance vehicle for tools and other needed items.” He adds that because of their unique design they even work great as portable work benches. Plus, the Pack Mule stock chaser comes with a unique and handy factory equipped 3-step ladder to help operators reach high and out-of-the-way shelves.

Blades reports that operators particularly enjoy the fact that Pack Mules are very easy and quick to get on and off of, compared to “sit-down” models, and that they are simple to maintain on site – although they really require very little routine maintenance to keep them running smoothly.

“There are several reasons we like electric,” says Blades. “With electric carts you don’t need to fill with gas and oil every day. Just plug them in at night and they are ready to go first thing in the morning. We don’t have to worry about the plants being harmed by exhaust from a gas engine, or the personnel breathing toxic fumes. Plus we do not need to constantly start and stop the engine. You just hit the pedal and go.”

Wesley International is blossoming as the “go-to” provider of green-friendly zero-emission stock chasers, thanks to the quietly operating and money-saving Pack Mule electric utility vehicle. Made of 14-gauge diamond plate steel, the Pack Mule is meticulously engineered for durability, safety, easy operation and minimal maintenance in tough, demanding environments. That makes it the vehicle of choice for Wenke Greenhouses and other leading companies across the continent.
